I'm an IMVU dev from Spain and I'd love to have another option to withdraw my funds from FMX than PayPal.

I recently joined the beta of a new method of payment called Ericsson Money, tried it and like it. I thought it might be interesting for FMX. More info at http://www.ericssonmoney.com

Hi I am an IMVU dev from the United States and would like to see users be able to use VISA/MasterCard debit gift cards to purchase credits on FMX or Moneybookers. I am given VISA gift cards all the time and can't seem to be able to use them with Paypal because the giftcard cannot be verified as it is not in no specific name.

Hi Simi, thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately most Visa/Mastercard gift cards can only be used in the countries where they were bought, especially in the US. Since FMX is not considered US merchant, we currently don't have the ability to accept these cards. However we are aware of this and are definitely looking into a plan to allow you guys to pay with Visa/Mastercard gift cards.

    Hi there,

You already have my preferred payment provider in paypal but what I would like to see implemented is the possibility to make instant deposits using Paypal Masspay. Virwox already has this functionality so it shouldn't be too hard to implement

This would mean you don't need to charge me any extra fees and the maximum I would pay would $1. I would definitely be more inclined to deposit here if I can avoid paying excessive fees to Paypal.

    Hi Luna,
    Thanks for the suggestion.

We've made a conscious decision to not accept Daopay in the US due to the high cost of Daopay in the US and the abundance of other payment methods we already have in the US.

Here are some payment methods you can try apart from credit cards/paypal:

All of them are cheaper than Daopay which means you get more credits for your dollar. :) Feel free to start another thread if you need help with any of them.

I'm in Australia and I closed my PayPal account, so when my Credit Card is maxed, the only option I have is DaoPay which charges double. For some reason onebip doesn't work on my carrier (Telstra)....
Neteller - http://www.neteller.com or even Poli is a good payment option for Australia.
BTW I buy credits for SL

HI Trezz, you can use Poli via our partner MOL. ePay is available there too.

They're definitely a lot cheaper than Daopay. :)

Not something for me, but as alot of users are unable to put their hands on some real money, micropayments should be integrated thru the use of a Ad-funded payments.
    (i.e. SuperRewards, SponsorPay, etc etc).

If this stresses out the server, make it appear on their accounts. (i.e. a user completes a Ad-funded payment, at which point FMX receives, say, 1 USD (Real amounts may vary), which would then be possible to redeem to the currency of their choice.

    i.e.
(CUSTOMER A) is in dire need for some credits, but lives in a town, far away from civilisiation, with only himself and his computer + internet. He notices that FMX supports a Ad-Funded payment, as so does IMVU (Although, just like any other payment option, IMVU is less 'bang for it's buck' )
He completes 5 surveys on a Ad-Funded payment, at which point FMX receives money from the Advertising company. In this example, let's say 2$ in total.

2$. Customer A says. Not alot. But not when you look at FMX, where you'll receive a bang for your buck.

(i.e. to reduce stress from the server, FMX could ask for a total sum (1$+ Profit for FMX) which may be with 2 Surveys. )

    Just an idea. :-P

Hi Spike, thanks for the suggestion.

We've been approached by a number of these offer companies actually, and have considered the option. However, we are quite wary of the quality of ads/offers (after having seen some pretty scammy ones) and want to ensure that if we implement offers, it does not reduce the quality of the user experience on FMX.

Would love to hear from more of you guys what your opinion on offers is.
    Should we have offers?
Do you have a recommendation for which offer provider is better (better experience and better / less scammy offers)?

    :)

How about the newer and less known Bitcoins? Although the nature of them (being un-refundable) might not be fit for FMX

Hi Kevin, that's a good suggestion. Thanks!

We've kept a keen eye on Bitcoins and explored using bitcoins both as a tradeable currency and a payment method on FMX.

The anonymity surrounding Bitcoins transactions and the several recent hack events on some of the other bitcoin exchanges makes integrating bitcoins a little worrisome for us at this point, especially since we place a lot of emphasis on security and fraud prevention on FMX.

While we've decided not to move forward with bitcoins for now, it is an interesting area and one that we will continue to keep our eyes peeled on for a while, and definitely open to bringing bitcoins on board FMX once that ecosystem is a little more stable and widely adopted.

I'd like to see bitcoins as well. While a few of the major exchanges have been hacked that was due to their own security issues and doesn't have anything to do with the security of the currency itself.

To properly implement a set of bitcoin exchanges similar to what Virwox has done wouldn't be very difficult to do properly. When bitcoins are deposited require a certain number of confirmations before completing the deposit and allowing the user to spend their bitcoins on the exchange. Bitcoin withdrawals suffer from the same risks as any other method except unlike with Paypal you can't file a dispute and request a chargeback.

Overall it probably only makes sense to allow bitcoins to be used as a tradeable currency rather than a payment method for the current exchanges as their value tends to be unstable at the moment.
